We have decided to publicly list some of our ideas for this site so we can get feedback.
Anyone can leave a comment on posts in our News Blog. The comments will be sent to a moderation queue where we will read them and maybe post them based on what’s in them. However, know that we do read all comments.
Ideas:
- The site will use the new Unbounded Productions Theme, which has yet to be named.
- A new skin will be developed for the Theme using the old FIM greenish color schemes.
- The style and layout of the site will resemble what it does now. However, it will most likely contain 3 sections across the bottom of the site as well.
- If possible we want to have the site setup so users can post their own content or make revisions like a Wiki. However, everything will go through a moderation queue before being posted to the site.
- Section: Encyclopedia – This will be an encyclopedia and dictionary all rolled into one. Pages will be A-Z. However, we are not sure if we wish to create a page for each entry, or create a page with a set number of entries. We are leaning towards a set number of entries, being organized in an A – Am, Am-Az order.
- Section: Reference – This section will hold references, how to guides, and lessons.
- We will host a forum allowing the discussion of all things musical. This forum will be child friendly and heavily moderated for language and other issues.
- Section: Gear / Setups: This section will host gear setups and settings. Gear setups can use images or text flow charts to describe how someone sets up their gear to work properly. This section will also include digital setups for devices such as the Line6 POD, amp setups for getting specific tones, and various other technical setups. We want to keep this section separate from the reference section due to it being more about gear than theory or technique.
Notes:
- The current theme was chosen because of it’s color scheme. The layout seems to work decently for the site idea as well. We would like to know everyone’s thoughts on what layout could work best for this type of site.
- We are very open to suggestion at this point. Please let us know if you have any ideas.
- We are also looking for new team members for adding content to this site. As said before we want users of the site to be able to submit content, but we want a team that will help bring new content to the site even if regular users don’t.
We will continue to post here and update. If something is changed we will change it and update it in this post. We may also change this over to a page later if we decide to post a lot of new posts.
